Is it “Christian” to fight for, even defend civility even as they also share the gospel?

• Christians need to learn the difference between “fighting for, contending for” civility, even religious liberty and the Church’s main work of sharing God’s Law and Gospel to bring people to faith.

• An unwillingness to engage the culture for the culture’s sake often leads to the cultures decay, and it complicates our mission to the share the Gospel too.

• An unwillingness to engage in the “civilizing of culture” question often leads to unnecessary suffering of people and even the punitive persecution of God’s people seeking to share God’s truth for all.

• God engages the world His two ways, to preserve and to save. If God can engage in preserving the world even as He uniquely saves it, believers should be involved in sharing His preserving and saving message too.
